• Court Square Center History - Contemporary Luxury Apartments in Downtown Memphis

Court Square Center combines the 19th century architectural heritage of Memphis with the sensibility of modern design and adaptive re-use, creating a vital urban community located in the very heart of downtown Memphis.

Lincoln American Tower

Constructed in 1925 as the headquarters for Columbia Mutual Life this homage to the Woolworth Building in New York City has cast a memorable silhouette in the Memphis skyline for ninety years. From the historical lobby of Tennessee pink marble to the original single pane operable windows, this former iconic business tower offers river views from every apartment unit.

Lowenstein

Built in 1885 as the B. Lowenstein & Brothers department store, this ornate former retail emporium features original cast iron columns and heavy timber wood beams in the common areas and apartments, varying window shapes on each floor, and the high ceilings one expects from this industrialist period. Amenities for the project include the Fitness Center and Tenant Storage facilities which are located on the first Lower Level.

CA2

Named to commemorate the former Court Annex storage warehouse, this steel and glass modernist structure offers the consummate open-plan living, with floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking Court Square Park and the energy efficiencies enjoyed through the building’s LEED Gold certification of 2010.

“Unique design, responsive management… We love our ‘glass house’ overlooking the park!”
